Adair's Saloon: Close to Angry Dog but yet so far away in atmosphere.  Adair's is all about honky-tonk and rockabilly. If you don't like country music, don't go here.  If you like boring people that do not know how to dance and are pretentious, then don't go here.  This is a place where you can go and let loose. Go ahead, yell out a big "YEE-HAH" and whistle your loudest between songs (hell, anytime actually).  Go to the bar and order a can of beer.  Yes, a can of beer.  And don't dare ask for a glass, unless you want a funny look by the bartenter.
The Dallas Observer The premier Dallas Alternative/Underground newspaper.  Great bar/club/restaurant reviews and excellent reading material when your on the can.  I like the latter part of the newpaper with all the pictures of call girls and massage theripists.
